Singer Syasya Rizal has channelled her personal journey into her latest musical offering, marking a significant milestone in her career.
The 25-year-old artiste, whose full name is Norsyasya Afiqah Shahrizal, expressed immense excitement over her first direct involvement in the songwriting for her new single, 'Inikan Hari Raya'.
For Syasya, the track holds a profound place in her discography as it was penned straight from the heart as a dedicated gift to her loyal fans.
The creative process was an educational experience for the singer, who worked with composers Amirul Azhar and Amir Firdaus.
"The message conveyed in this song truly comes from my heart to the fans," she says.
"Collaborating with Amirul and Amir was incredibly enjoyable; they guided me through the nuances of building a melody, evoking emotion and weaving a narrative within a song."
Beyond the music, Syasya reflects on the deeper essence of the festive season, suggesting that Aidilfitri is often misunderstood in the age of social media.
She notes that while digital platforms often depict the celebration as a display of grandeur — complete with designer outfits and lavish home decor — the true spirit of Hari Raya lies in sincere gratitude and the appreciation of one's current blessings.
"For me, Hari Raya is intrinsically linked to thankfulness.
"Sometimes on social media, it feels like everything must be grand and perfect. But the reality is that not everyone celebrates that way. Raya isn't about what we show; it's about who is still around us."
She describes 'Inikan Hari Raya' as a "gentle reminder" that happiness stems from contentment rather than material wealth.
This year's festivities carry an even deeper resonance for the singer, as she prepares to celebrate with her husband and children.
The addition of her two young children, affectionately known as Obot and Obit, has shifted her perspective on the holiday.
"Now that I have my own family, Raya feels different. Having my husband by my side and two cute babies makes the atmosphere so much more vibrant.
"You realise it's no longer about yourself, but about creating memories for them. That is the most beautiful meaning of Raya."
'Inikan Hari Raya' is now available for streaming on all major digital platforms. - NST
