PKR has stressed the importance of “trust and stability” after Negeri Sembilan Umno withdrew support for Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun, leaving the fate of the Madani state government hanging in the balance.
PKR Youth exco Jalex Lee cautioned that trust, once broken, is not easily restored.
“This development is not just a routine disagreement - it represents a devious and traitorous political stunt that risks eroding public trust and once again undermining the democratic values in Malaysia,” he said.
“Disagreements are inevitable in any coalition, but they should be addressed through dialogue and internal resolution, not such political moves,” he added.
Lee said that while the Umno assemblypersons may have their own “justifications” for withdrawing support for Aminuddin (above), “political infighting” only serves to distract and weaken the nation’s position amid a global energy crisis.
“Ultimately, the rakyat are not passive observers - Malaysians are watching closely, evaluating every move made,” he added.

PKR’s Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin highlighted that the agreement between unity government component members centred on creating a stable administration that would last a full term.
“May Negeri Sembilan BN respect this agreement… stability and the welfare of the people must be prioritised,” the deputy investment, trade, and industry minister said in a brief X post.
Earlier, Sin Chew Daily reported that Aminuddin, who is from PKR - which holds five state assembly seats in Negeri Sembilan - has called for an emergency meeting at his official residence at 3pm.
The state Pakatan Harapan chief has summoned all 17 assemblypersons from the coalition to attend the meeting.
The report also said Negeri Sembilan DAP, which holds 11 state seats, is set to hold a separate meeting at its party office at 2pm.
Loss of confidence
State Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias said Umno’s 14 assemblypersons have lost confidence in Aminuddin’s leadership following the royal crisis that rocked the state last week.
He said an official letter would be submitted to the state assembly speaker and secretary after the press conference.

A total of 19 seats are required to form the state government, while Harapan holds 17 - meaning Umno’s withdrawal would be enough to bring the administration down.
Two scenarios now appear possible.
First, Umno could push for Harapan to support one of its assemblypersons as menteri besar to preserve the federal-level Madani pact.
Alternatively, Umno could align with Perikatan Nasional, which holds five seats, potentially leading to the collapse of the Madani coalition in the state.
Adding to the intrigue was a cryptic post by PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, who congratulated Negeri Sembilan Umno.
“Congratulations, Negeri Sembilan Umno, for initiating the move to unite the ‘ummah’ (Muslim community),” he said.
PAS has consistently called on all Malay-Muslim political parties to join hands to safeguard the interests of race and religion.

BN secretary-general Zambry Abd Kadir said he would refer the matter to the coalition’s top BN leadership before issuing an official statement on the actions of the 14 Umno representatives.
"I will refer this matter to the BN chairperson (Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) first," he told reporters, according to Bernama. - FMT
