The price of subsidised RON95 remains unchanged, with these prices effective until April 8.

In a statement, the finance ministry said the price of RON97 will be fixed at RM4.95 per litre, down from the current RM5.15 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of unsubsidised RON95 fuel will remain at RM3.87 per litre.
The price of diesel in West Malaysia will be fixed at RM6.02 per litre, up from RM5.52 per litre.
Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 programme will remain at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan stays at RM2.15 per litre.
These prices are effective until April 8.
The ministry said the prolonged conflict in the Middle East has driven global crude oil prices up by more than 40%, surpassing US$100 per barrel.
“More critically, refined product prices for petrol and diesel have also surged significantly, reaching US$150 per barrel and US$250 per barrel respectively, placing upward pressure on retail fuel prices,” it said.
The ministry said the government remains committed to ensuring that members of the public do not fully bear the impact of rising global oil prices.
It said that since the outbreak of the Middle East war, the government has not fully floated retail fuel prices at the pump and has continued to absorb part of the cost for petrol and diesel.
“As an interim measure following the rise in diesel prices, the government will continue the additional BUDI Diesel cash assistance of RM100 in April, bringing the total assistance to RM300 for BUDI Individu and BUDI Agri-Komoditi recipients,” said the ministry.
“Beyond these interim measures, the government is also considering medium- and long-term policies to ensure the subsidy mechanism remains sustainable, transparent and beneficial, taking into account developments in the global energy crisis and its implications on global energy markets.” - FMT
