Selangor exco condemns edited image linking pig to sultan

 Selangor executive councillor Ng Sze Han has condemned a social media post featuring an edited image of a pig in royal attire, which he said was linked to the Sultan of Selangor.

Ng, who chairs the state investment, trade and mobility committee, said comparing any person to an animal was rude.

He said such an act could also cause unrest in a multiracial country.

The Kinrara assemblyman urged the police to take immediate action so that the person responsible can be dealt with firmly under the law.

The edited image follows a row over pig farming in Selangor.

In February, Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said he did not consent to pig farming in any district in the state, citing pollution, river contamination, and social concerns.

This week, Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki stood by her call for Selangor to consider modern, closed-system pig farming.

She drew criticism from opposition assemblymen, who said her remarks went against the sultan’s decree. - FMT
