Residents are advised to avoid going into farms or forest areas on their own, especially in the early morning and late evening.

The wildlife and national parks department, or Perhilitan, said the tracks were discovered by locals on April 3, some 15km from the Simpang Renggam forest reserve.
Perhilitan director-general Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said officers later verified the tracks, about 12cm wide and 11cm long, as belonging to a tiger.
“Perhilitan will conduct patrols and surveillance for 14 days to ensure public safety. The tiger conservation unit will meanwhile install cameras to track the movement of the tiger before considering a suitable next step.
“Residents are advised to exercise caution while going about their daily activities and to avoid going into farms or forest areas on their own, especially in the early morning or late evening,” he said in a statement. - FMT
