He was described as a firm boss by his staff, yet to his constituents in Tambun, Perak, Husni Hanadzlah, who quits his post as second finance minister today, is known for his caring nature, especially among the needy.
During an interview with several of his constituents in 2013 general election, Bernama was made to understand that since he won the seat in 1995 general election, a seat he held till today, Husni has always ensured his weekends were spent in the constituency to meet with the people.
The 64-year-old Ipoh-born leader today cited personal reasons for vacating the post that he was appointed into since 2009.
Husni joined the cabinet in 2004 after he was appointed as deputy international trade and industry minister by the then prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
In 2008, he was appointed as the deputy finance minister before Abdullah's successor Najib Abdul Razak appointed him as the second finance minister in 2009.
In a cabinet reshuffle today, prime minister announced that Husni's post would be filled by Deputy Finance Minister Johari Abdul Ghani.
