PARLIAMENT | A BN lawmaker today raised concern about sex scenes and LGBT representation appearing on online media service provider Netflix.
Mastura Mohd Yazid (BN-Kuala Kangsar) said such material was causing concern among Malaysians.
"This is about films on Netflix. Are there different mechanisms between those ordinarily used to censor films and those on Netflix?
"Because I am seeing widespread sex scenes and LGBT elements which are causing worry among the people," she told the Dewan Rakyat.
Mastura had addressed the question to Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo who was delivering his winding-up speech following the debate on the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong speech.
Gobind noted that other MPs have also realised similar concerns and promised to address them in a written reply.
"Can I give it to you in writing, because it's among the same issues raised by Bachok (MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz).
"So I will come back to you on censorship and other issues about tackling this problem," he said. - Mkini
