Bow-wow! Cop rescues puppy, receives praise from netizens

Malaysiakini
Netizens are raining accolades on the police force for having Corporal Mohd Azad Azady Mohamad Tarmizee in their midst.
In a minute-long clip, the cop stole the hearts of animal lovers and netizens alike as he rescued a distressed puppy from a monsoon drain while on duty in Shah Alam today.
"I was doing a snap check in the area as part of my daily routine for Covid-19 ops when I heard a puppy barking from inside of a drain.
"I saw its parents and three siblings waiting near the drain looking worried" said Azad.
"The three other puppies quickly hid behind a car when they saw me but the parents were moving back and forth as they couldn't find a way to get near the puppy.
"I then spotted the puppy and jumped in to rescue it," he told Malaysiakini.
In the heartwarming clip, which has gone viral, the black puppy appeared apprehensive at first but wagged its tail when Mohd Azad extended his hand before lifting it from the drain.
When it was on safer grounds, two adult dogs seem to greet the relieved puppy.
Perhaps to say "Thank you", when Mohd Azad climbed out of the drain, the puppy was seen tailing him as he walked away to continue his duty.

Netizens commended Azad for his act of kindness.
The Royal Malaysia Police Facebook page has also shared the video with the caption: "Congratulations to the Mobile Patrol Vehicle personnel from the Shah Alam district police headquarters, Corporal Mohd Azad, for rescuing a puppy during the patrol of Covid-19 ops this morning."
Azad said this is not the first time that he has rescued a puppy and had done it several times before without asking for praises from anyone.
However, the one-and-a-half minute clip showing him rescuing the little black cutie made its rounds on social media today and he couldn't escape the spotlight.
When asked about his feelings after rescuing the puppy, Azad said was happy for the puppy and added he hoped that the incident opened the public's eyes to unrecorded acts kindness done by policemen. - Mkini
