CORONAVIRUS | The enhanced movement control order (MCO) on Hulu Langat has been lifted except for a school and a house in the area, announced Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The defence minister said the government has decided to take this course of action based on the advice of the health minister.
“In regards to the enhanced MCO on Sungai Lui at Hulu Langat, today is the final day for the implementation of the order.
“On the advice of the health minister, the Hulu Langat enhanced MCO is lifted except for the Maahad Tahfiz an-Nabawiyyah and a house at Batu 23 Sungai Lui. An enhanced MCO will be enforced at these two places until April 28,” Ismail Sabri said during a press conference broadcast live online this afternoon.
He said this means seven villages in the area comprising five Malay villages and two Orang Asli villages will revert to the partial lockdown measures instead of a full lockdown.
The minister said the enhanced MCO will remain on these two buildings because there are still Covid-19 cases there.
On March 29, the government announced that an enhanced MCO would be enforced in parts of Hulu Langat after more than a quarter of residents at a religious school were infected with Covid-19.
