THE government will have to discuss and agree on a standard operating procedure first before setting dates to allow people to travel back home during the movement control order period, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
As such, he added that the May 1 to 3 dates set by the police would not be applicable.
At his daily press conference today, Ismail Sabri said that the decision from the police on travel dates has to be discussed by the National Security Council or even by Cabinet members.
“I want to clarify a misunderstanding yesterday when the police made an announcement about the travel permit starting from May 1 to May 3.
“As I said before, until May 1 is the date for registration under the Gerak Malaysia smartphone application.
“After May 1, we will collect all the information and after collecting the information, the NSC, the police and Health Ministry will sit down for a meeting to discuss the standard operating procedure on how the public can return home,” Ismail said.
