CORONAVIRUS | The number of green zones (with zero active Covid-19 cases) has continued to rise to 85, with Kelantan joining Perlis as states with no active cases, although the former has yet to be declared free of Covid-19.
Penang (with 5 active cases), Kedah (4) and Perak (2) are other states that are approaching complete green zone status.
According to the Health Ministry's latest statistics up to 12pm yesterday (April 28) the number of green zone areas have risen to 85 from 77 a day earlier, while the number of red zone areas remains at 12 and the number of yellow zones is now 61.
Red zones denote districts with more than 40 active cases while orange is between 20 and 40.
Localities with one to 20 active cases are marked yellow while green localities have zero active cases.
The 12 red zones are Lembah Pantai (298 active cases), Kuching (165), Kepong (91), Kluang (84), Seremban (74), Hulu Langat (72), Kota Samarahan (68), Titiwangsa (62), Johor Baru (48), Melaka Tengah (48), Petaling (46) and Kuantan (42).
In total there are now 1,719 active cases remaining in Malaysia.
The Health Ministry reminded Malaysians that the battle against the Covid-19 outbreak has not been won yet.
"Despite the recent decline in Covid-19 cases we should not take it easy and violate the movement control order," it said.
The ministry also advised Malaysians to avoid any public or religious gatherings and to stay at home, practice social distancing and maintain personal hygiene.
