Not all freedoms restored immediately if and when MCO ends - minister

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | Not all freedoms will be restored immediately if and when the movement control order (MCO) ends, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"The people can't be free (to do as they wish) as usual, certain standard operating procedures must still be observed," he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.
Ismail said, for example, even when the MCO ends, there will be no mass gatherings such as for university graduation ceremonies.
He earlier said the government will be discussing an SOP for the various infection zones tomorrow.
Ismail had previously hinted that life in a red zone with more than 41 Covid-19 infections, may be vastly different than life in a green zone with no infections.
He also said they will be looking into an SOP for after the MCO ends.
But whether or not the order will be extended, Ismail added, will be based on advice from the Health Ministry.
Earlier, the defence minister said compliance with the MCO was at 97 percent.
The MCO was put in place on March 18 in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.
As of yesterday, there have been 4,119 total cases in the country, with 65 deaths.
There have also been 1,487 recoveries, which is 36.1 percent of total infections. - Mkini
