Perak exco man apologises over gathering involving deputy health minister

Malaysiakini

Perak state executive councillor Razman Zakaria has apologised to the people of Malaysia over an event that involved a group of people including Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali who were pictured having a meal together in Lenggong in an apparent violation of the movement control order (MCO).
In a Facebook post today, Razman said he was going to the ground every day to help frontliners to check if they required any equipment, especially healthcare staff.
“I apologise for my mistake. This posting is not my attempt to be exempted from legal action but to explain the real situation,” said Razman who is Gunung Semanggol assemblyperson.

"Every night, volunteers send food to security forces manning roadblocks around Bagan Serai and that is how we get to know what is required."

Razman said his explanation was not meant to prevent any legal action but to make known the actual situation.

Yesterday Noor Azmi, who is also Bagan Serai MP, courted harsh criticism after a post on his Facebook page about visiting a tahfiz school to hand out goods and later having a meal.
In the pictures attached, he was shown handing out the goods and then a group of about 20 people were shown having a meal together, including Noor Azmi.
Perak police chief Razarudin Husain has said that all those who allegedly had the meal together would be investigated. - Mkini
