Two Wanita PKR leaders criticised the suspension of their chief Haniza Talha, claiming that it is an affront to the party's core principles.
In a strongly-worded statement this afternoon, the wing's communications chief Carolyn Khor trained her guns on PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
"If members and leaders of a party are judged based on biased and unfounded accusations that are justified only through a handful of yes-men answerable to the party president, this party has no doubt turned into a one-man party that reeks of feudalism.
"The icon of PKR is no stranger to the cause of justice, yet when it comes to justice for others, he turns a blind eye instead.
“They say justice is blind and this takes PKR to a whole new level of hypocrisy," she added.
Terengganu Wanita PKR chief Sharifah Norhayati Syed Omar said Haniza was slapped with the suspension when the Lembah Jaya assemblyperson was working hard to help those affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
"Since the movement control order (MCO) was announced (on March 18), she has been working tirelessly to arrange all the efforts to help the people," she added in a separate statement.
'This is revenge'
Sharifah questioned the PKR disciplinary board for making such decisions during the MCO period and accused it of ignoring other complaints in the past.
"No action was taken regarding our numerous complaints (before).
"So it is strange that during the MCO, the board is busy conducting probes and issuing letters as well as notices," she added.
Sharifah also described the actions taken against those perceived as aligned to former deputy president Azmin Ali and former vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin as revenge.
Haniza has been suspended from her post pending a disciplinary probe.
She had claimed that the suspension was over an unspecified meeting with Azmin and Zuraida, who had defected to Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional, which led to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government.
Vice-president Tian Chua had also received a show-cause letter. - Mkini
