Police to question deputy minister over alleged MCO breach

Malaysiakini

Police will summon and question a deputy minister over allegations of violating the movement control order.
Perak police chief Perak police chief Razarudin Husain said the deputy minister and a Perak exco member had been invited to a tahfiz school by its owner who had then served them a meal.
"Based on photos of the event, all those present including the deputy minister were seated at a distance from one another.
"However, investigations will still be done on all those who attended the event," Razarudin was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
He added that the police interviews would be done soon.
Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali had posted a series of photographs on his Facebook (above) of him and his entourage visiting a tahfiz school in Lenggong.
In the photographs, he is depicted handing out gifts to several people. About 20 people were also shown eating a meal together while sitting next to each other, including the deputy minister.
However, the posts have since been deleted on Facebook though screenshots of the posting continue to make the rounds on social media.
Accompanying Noor Azmi on the visit was Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria who is the state exco in charge of education.
Netizens and politicians, including Umno vice president Khaled Nordin had criticised Noor Azmi for allegedly flouting the MCO
Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and former menteri besar Ahmad Said have also courted brickbats after the former visited the latter for lunch yesterday.
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said no one was above the law when asked about VIPs flouting the MCO. - Mkini
