KUCHING: The number of flights from Labuan to Miri will be reduced from three times to once weekly to curb the spread of Covid-19, Sarawak’s tourism minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said.
Karim, who represented state disaster management committee chairman Douglas Uggah Embas, told a press conference today the reduction in the number of flights was in line with the movement control order (MCO).
He said Sarawakians arriving from the peninsula, Sabah and Labuan must undergo self-isolation at a quarantine centre.
Karim also announced that Sarawak had recorded nine new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 273.
Eight of the cases are being treated at Sarawak General Hospital and one at Bintulu Hospital.
There were also 76 new persons under investigation (PUI), bringing the total to 1,705.
Karim also said the committee had decided to allow workshops to operate twice a week, from 7am to 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. - FMT
