Hard to imagine Bersatu Youth without Syed Saddiq - Rais Hussin

Malaysiakini

Bersatu strategy and policy bureau chief Rais Hussin has said that it is difficult to have the party youth wing without its captain Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
"It is difficult to imagine Bersatu Youth without Syed Saddiq. I was there from its inception. It is just so wrong," Rais said on Twitter.
Syed Saddiq (above), as well as four others including former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, had their Bersatu memberships nullified for sitting on the opposition bench during the one-day Dewan Rakyat sitting on May 18.
They had disputed the termination and Mahathir, who was the party chairperson, stressed that MPs are free to sit wherever they want in Parliament.
In a response to Rais' tweet, Syed Saddiq said Bersatu Youth will fight on despite his termination being done without proper process.
"Bersatu Youth belongs to and is powered by all of its members. The few will not scare us into submission.
"During the party election season, they sacked us without (due) process, because they were afraid that the grassroots would fight against the wrongs (kemungkaran)," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Muar division treasurer Afiqah Zulkifli said the party's Muar division on May 30 had unanimously supported Syed Saddiq as a Bersatu member.
"Yesterday, the division's women and youth wings had again extended their support to the leadership of Mahathir as the Bersatu chairperson and Syed Saddiq as the Muar division chief," she said. - Mkini
