PETALING JAYA: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu's call not to drag the political problem for too long showed his sincerity and leadership, says Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan (pic).
In a statement on his personal Facebook page, Wan Saiful said that Ahmad Faizal's exit speech after receiving the non-confidence vote from the Perak state assembly showed his priority in the interests of the people.
Ahmad Faizal, who lost the non-confidence vote 48-10 and one abstention this morning (Dec 4), is a vice president of Bersatu, also the party of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"Ahmad Faizal showed his sincerity and leadership when he said that political problems should not be dragged out for too long at a time when we are all facing an unstable economic and health situation,"
"Such a view obviously showed his earnestness to care for the welfare of the people and his attitude to always place the people as priority.
"This issue (of the Perak MB having lost his vote of confidence and being removed as MB) will be discussed by the leadership of Bersatu, and I hope we will all wait for the official views of the party," said Wan Saiful.
The Chenderiang assemblyman lost a motion of confidence in him as the Perak Mentri Besar at the State Assembly here this morning (Dec 4).
He received ten votes in favour, while 48 voted against him and one abstained.
State Opposition leader Dr Abdul Aziz Bari called for a bloc vote of confidence and was supported by Umno's Bukit Chandan assemblyman, Maslin Sham Razman.
The Perak State Assembly is made up of 25 Umno assemblymen, 16 from DAP, five from Bersatu, five from Amanah, three from Keadilan, three from PAS, one from Gerakan and one independent. - Star
