"It is our hope that the unity of ummah which is the core for Muafakat Nasional will continue to be strengthened," he added.
Umno secretary-seneral Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan was reported to have said yesterday that the party had sent an invitation to Hadi and Tuan Ibrahim to come to the AGM, on March 3.
The Umno's 2020 AGM this weekend has received the green light by the National Security Council (NSC).
Ahmad said Umno received the approval from the federal security agency in a letter dated March 19.
The number of participants at the AGM this weekend is expected to drop significantly compared to the previous years, due to the standard operating procedures (SOP) that are in place during the Movement Control Order. - NST
