Umno supreme council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi said he would restrain from issuing any statement over the quarantine order involving Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Puad, who was sued by Muhyiddin for questioning the alleged double standards in the quarantine issue, said he would comply with the court order.
"I was informed that the prime minister has summoned me in court. He obtained an ex-parte injunction against me from the court.
"I will comply with the court order, and I am in the process of getting advice from my counsel," he said in a Facebook posting today.
"I believe in the country's judiciary system, and I will defend myself in the court," he said.
On March 1, Muhyiddin filed a defamation suit against Puad over the latter's Facebook post alleging double standards in Covid-19 procedures. The Facebook post was uploaded on Feb 9.
Muhyiddin is seeking a court order for Puad to publish an unequivocal public apology on the latter’s official Facebook page, as well as for the defendant to ensure the apology is carried by news portals and social media that had published the impugned post. - Mkini
