The government has placed three more districts in Kelantan under the movement control order (MCO), meaning that movement is now restricted throughout the whole state.
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced in a statement today that Jeli, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang will be placed under MCO from tomorrow (April 22) until April 29.
This entails a ban on inter-district travel and social activities, among others.
The other seven districts in Kelantan were previously placed under MCO on April 16, and will remain under the order until April 29.
Ismail said active cases in Jeli, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang had risen 83.9 percent in the last two weeks, from 18 to 112.
Meanwhile, Ismail also announced that the enhanced MCO at the Perumahan Komunity Bersepadu Pulai Serai in Pekan, Pahang, would be extended to 29 April as new cases are still being detected there.
Three housing areas in Lahad Datu, Sabah will also be placed under enhanced MCO from tomorrow until May 5.
The areas affected are Taman Aman 3, Taman Aman Jaya, and Taman Palm Height. - Mkini
