IPOH: A police report lodged with the Perak police Integrity and Standards Compliance Department by the first wife of Chef Wan’s son-in-law has been handed over to the department's branch in Perlis, says Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.
The Perak police chief confirmed that a report had been lodged with the department, but since the officer was now based in the Perlis contingent, the file had been sent there.
He said the officer was attached to the traffic department in Perak, but had been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Perlis in 2019.
“From my understanding, a disciplinary investigation file has been opened against him, as he failed to apply to the police to get married for a second time, this time to Chef Wan’s daughter.
“Also, I understand his marriage is registered in Perlis with the Islamic Religious Department.
“So while investigations are being carried out, it is not fair for me to comment further, ” he told a press conference after the handing over of duties by several high-ranking officers at the police officers’ mess hall here on Monday (April 12).
On April 11, mStar had reported that a woman by the nama of Nur Hamizah Shaffee, 34, had claimed that her husband Meor Mohammad Aidid Meor Jamaluddin had married Serina Redzuawan without her knowledge.
Nur Hamizah also denied claims by Serina that Meor Mohammad was a divorcee when the marriage took place in Perlis.
According to the portal, Nur Hamizah is a lecturer at a college in Kampar, and married Meor Mohammad Aidid on Aug 8,2015. They do not have any children.
Although her husband had divorced her on March 9, she believed that Serina and her husband were married in the third week of February, while he was still married to Nur Hamizah.
Adding to the controversy, celebrity Chef Wan, in an Instagram post, had said that his actress daughter’s wedding had taken place in "Siam” (Thailand).
He had said that he earlier refused to pay for the wedding, and insisted that she hold a small-scale ceremony.
“I never prohibited her from getting married but doing so in Siam and only telling (me) after a while: do you think it is fitting for a daughter to act this way?” he asked in his post.
He had said, as a father, what his daughter and her husband had done was disappointing. - Star
