KOTA BARU: The number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Kelantan today was four times that of yesterday.
A total of 31 cases were recorded yesterday, while there were 126 cases recorded today.
State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the majority of the 126 cases were close contacts of patients while the rest were from new clusters and the prison.
He said Kelantan recorded two new clusters today namely the Jalan Kota Kubang Labu and Palekbang clusters.
"The Jalan Kota Kubang Labu cluster recorded 27 cases while the Palekbang cluster recorded 19 cases.
"As of today, more than 300 people from the two clusters have undergone screening tests," he said.
Dr Zaini said the latest two clusters have brought the number of active clusters in the state to 18.
With today's cases, Kelantan has a cumulative figure of 6,582 Covid-19 cases.
As of today, a total of 6,023 people have recovered from the pandemic while 533 are still warded. - NST
