SIBU: Day two of the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme here, scheduled for Tuesday (April 20), has been postponed due to a lack of vaccines.
Day one of the programme on Monday (April 19) saw 924 senior citizens aged 75 and above receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine together with 140 frontliners.
Sibu Division health officer Dr Teh Jo Hun said vaccinations could not be carried out as they have yet to receive supplies.
"The vaccination programme for Tuesday has been postponed until further notice, which will be issued later through the MySejahtera app. The postponement was made as the vaccination centre has yet to receive the vaccine," he said.
Dr Teh said those who had registered for the vaccine either through health clinics, district offices, community leaders, or the MySejahtera app, will have their appointment date set for in the continuation of Phase 2 and 3.
They can check their status through the MySejahtera app. - Star
