NILAI: A paint factory in the Nilai 3 Industrial Area was destroyed in a fire this afternoon.

Deputy state Fire and Rescue Department director Abdul Rahman Ali said the department received a call about the fire at 4.05pm and immediately despatched 64 firemen from five stations around Nilai, Seremban and Mantin to the scene as the fire was deemed to be big.

"A team from the Fire and Rescue Department Hazardous Materials Unit, police, private water tankers and emergency response rescue service were also summoned to the 100 by 200 sq ft factory to help.

"We managed to bring the fire under control at about 4.50pm. By then at least 70 per cent of the building structure was already burnt," he said when contacted.

He said the cause of the incident was still under investigation, adding however that no casualty was reported. - NST
