KOTA KINABALU: Political analysts argue that MUDA's inclusion in Warisan will be the initial triumph for the party, especially after deciding to expand its wings to the Peninsula.
Romzi Ationg from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) said that the crowd would see the case as the initial triumph of Warisan to gain support in the Peninsula in the 15th public highway option (PRU15).
"Apart from that, it is certain that the voters will be given an alternative to the PRU later, but it is up to them to choose a party," he told FMT.
Meanwhile, Tony Paridi Bagang from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sabah argues that the combination of Warisan and MUDA is a strategic step, especially in the efforts of two parties to attract the support of young people.
"Warisan wing expansion to the Peninsula will help him approach the youth group, especially the Sabah people there.
"At the same time, this creates synergy to bring forward the idea of a new politics that reaches into the politics of identity as mentioned by Warisan and MUDA," he said.
Tony said, the combination could also be a "promotional" step for Warisan to be more recognizable to the people in the Peninsula.
However, Lee Kuok Tiung from UMS is of the opinion that the combination of MUDA and Warisan will not succeed because the party led by Shafie Apdal is still too bad for the people of the Peninsula.
"Usually the Baharu party needs a name that is scattered like Tun Mahathir (Mohamad) when we were first established.
"If you expect Syed Saddiq (Syed Abdul Rahman) to be a person there (on the peninsula) it is also difficult (to get support).
"Without a name that's already creepy it's a bit difficult. Shafie may be a big name in Sabah but not on the Peninsula, ”he said.
In the past, MUDA will reportedly join Warisan to allow activists and activists to accompany the upcoming public election options.
The move was said to have been made because MUDA failed to be registered as a legitimate party.
Syed Saddiq said the political style or style of the former Sabah chief minister was very good for Malaysia. - FMT
