KUCHING: The conditional movement control order (CMCO) in Sarawak has been extended from May 18 to June 7 as a high number of Covid-19 cases is still being reported, the state disaster management committee said.
Six areas, two each in Bintulu, Julau and Pakan, have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) after a high number of infections were reported in the areas.
The EMCO in Kampung Jabai and Kampung Hulu Sebauh in Bintulu was implemented from May 14-27 while the one at Rumah Ayup, Nangga Lassi Mit; and Rumah Nyandang Lasi (Julau) and Rumah Berayun, Sg Nansang Tugong; and Rumah Douglas Jenuang (Pakan) will be from today until May 31.
The EMCO in four areas, two each in Mukah and Sarikei, has been extended until May 23.
The affected areas are Rumah Jali, Jalan Bukit Dinding-Bergerik; Rumah Lanyau, Jalan Bukit Dinding-Bergerik (Mukah); Rumah Gana, Kemantan; and Rumah Lat, Sungai Anggie Atas Bayong (Sarikei).
Sarawak recorded 324 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total in the state to 37,978 cases, apart from four new deaths. - FMT
