PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating a celebrity’s family over an alleged Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering in Ampang, after a photo of the family together went viral.
In a statement, Ampang Jaya police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak said it is suspected that the 13 family members in the photo do not live in the same home.
Farouk said a police report was lodged and the cops are investigating the alleged breach of Covid-19 rules.
Hari Raya visits are not allowed under the movement control order.
“We will call all those involved to give their statements. We urge the public against speculating on the case as it is still being investigated.”
Aside from this case, the police are also investigating an alleged breach of Covid-19 rules by senior minister for economy Azmin Ali and his family members.
This after Azmin’s sister Ummi Hafilda Ali alleged that Azmin had a gathering at his residence.
Putrajaya police chief Mohd Fadzil Ali has said initial investigations found that the Hari Raya gathering was among the minister’s family members who lived under the same roof. - FMT
