KUALA LUMPUR: A man who allegedly made his two-and-a-half-year-old son vape on Sunday has been arrested.
Gombak police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe said the 23-year-old man was arrested in Setapak yesterday.
He said staff from the Social Welfare Department and the police had gone to a house in Kampung Baru Air Panas here to rescue the child and his mother at 4.50pm yesterday after a video went viral showing the boy being made to vape.
“Both of them (mother and child) were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a medical examination and they were admitted to the ward at the hospital.
“Early investigations found that the incident took place at Taman Sahabat Jaya, Batu Caves, here,” he said in a statement today.
Arifai said the man would be placed under remand for seven days from tomorrow to assist in the investigation under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001. - FMT
