PAS leaders auctioning belongings to raise funds for Palestine

PAS leaders are auctioning off their belongings to raise funds for Palestine.

Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is auctioning off a 2010 Volvo XC60 3.0 (above) which he bought in 2018 for RM60,000 and spent an additional RM25,000 for repairs and upkeep.

"This is the only car that I've settled in full with the bank. I really love this car but I love our Palestinian brethren more," he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

He set the reserve price at RM55,000 and assured that 100 percent of the winning bid - paid to PAS' Humanitarian Fund - would be channelled to the #Aid4Palestine account.

Meanwhile, PAS mouthpiece Harakah reported that the Kedah state government had pledged RM200,000 for the Palestinian cause.

#Aid4Palestine is a secretariat formed with the backing of 40 NGOs with the aim of raising RM1 million for Palestinians.

Its formation was announced by the special ambassador to the Middle East, Abdul Hadi Awang. His son, Muhammad Khalil, is the secretariat's chairperson.

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan on Friday also ordered all levels of the party machinery to mobilise and raise funds for #Aid4Palestine.

The fundraising came amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Gaza, with the Zionist state launching airstrikes on Palestinian territories in response to rockets being launched by Hamas.

Another PAS leader auctioning off a belonging to raise funds for #Aid4Palestine is Kelantan deputy menteri besar Mohd Amar Abdullah.

Amar is auctioning off a Melela Lok 5 keris. He did not state a reserve price for the traditional Malay weapon.

He said there were several other items in his collection which he wanted to auction off but did not state what they were.
