KOTA BHARU: Hari Raya leave for 14,000 Kelantan health department staff has been frozen as Covid-19 infections have been at three-digit levels in the past fortnight.
“We need all hands on deck at the moment to ensure patients receive treatment,” said the state director of health, Dr Zaini Hussin, after a visit to a quarantine centre at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s medical campus in Kubang Kerian.
He said health ministry staff from around the country had also been sent to help in Kelantan.
The USM quarantine centre is able to treat 500 male patients and will receive 150 patients today, said Dr Zaini.
As at May 2, Kelantan has reported 400 new daily cases and 34 active clusters. - FMT
