PETALING JAYA: Seremban Umno Youth has been told by a Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth leader to toe the party line, following its decision to sever ties with Negeri Sembilan MCA and Seremban MCA.
BN Youth secretary Fadzmel Fadzil said the Umno Youth division’s decision was its “personal opinion” and did not reflect the party’s stand.
Fadzmel, who is also an Umno Youth exco member, said the youth wing should always seek to strengthen its cooperation with other BN component parties at the various levels.
“Every decision and stand on our relationship with other parties will only be decided by the party’s leadership at the BN Supreme Council.
“May BN continue to strengthen its cooperation and unite to ensure that we can win the 15th general election together,” he said in a statement today.
Earlier, Seremban Umno Youth chief Zool Amali Hussin said the division would no longer cooperate with MCA’s state chapter and Seremban division, “in light of continued provocation in local Chinese language newspapers”.
In a statement, he added that he wanted to retake the Seremban parliamentary seat from MCA at the next general election. - FMT
