A housing construction site here has been ordered to close immediately for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) stipulated by the National Security Council.
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), in a statement today, said the construction site was operating beyond the 60 percent workers capacity limit and the accommodation provided has no approval from the Labour Department or the local authority.
“CIDB has put up the closure notice and cordoned off the area using barrier tape, and issued several notices for other offences,” the statement read.
Previously, the Works Ministry reported that a total of 150 construction sites nationwide have been ordered to close since June 1 for failing to comply with the SOP.
