SEREMBAN: Police are probing the death of a four-month-old baby girl who had been under the care of her babysitter before she died.
Seremban police chief ACP Nanda Maarof said the 24-year-old mother of the deceased lodged a report on the matter on Tuesday (Dec 7).
"In her report, the mother claimed that she was at work when the babysitter called to say that the deceased was very weak.
"The mother then rushed to the babysitter's house at Taman Tuanku Ja'afar and saw that her baby's face was pale and she wasn't responsive," he said.
ACP Nanda said the mother and the babysitter rushed the deceased to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital where she was admitted to the red zone.
Medical personnel performed CPR on the deceased, but she was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
"The mother was told that her baby was brought in dead and that her cause of death had yet to be established.
"We have classified the case as sudden death for now, pending a post-mortem," he added. - Star
