The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) Youth is offering an air ticket subsidy of RM200 to voters to wish to return to Sarawak to vote in the state polls.
"We hereby urge the Sarawakian voters to seize the opportunity of the air ticket subsidy and return to hometown to cast the votes," it said in a statement.
It said interested applicants can submit their MyKad number, bank details, and proof of a return flight ticket to Sarawak here.
Sarawakians will go to the polls on Dec 18. There is a large Sarawakian community working in West Malaysia.
The cost of flights to return to Sarawak, particularly during the election period, has been a common complaint.
Prices have become more prohibitive due to the limited number of flights during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Consumers have complained of flight tickets costing up to RM3,000. The federal government had since pushed Sarawak to allow more flights to reduce the price of tickets. - Mkini
