KOTA KINABALU: The new Muda party is to await a court decision on its registration before deciding on a Warisan offer to use its logo for the Sabah elections, party founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said today.
He said the court hearing will be held next week. Muda is challenging a government decision rejecting its registration.
“We will wait for the court’s decision before we comment. Let’s not overstep the court’s ruling first as the hearing is next week,” he said at a press conference here after attending the opening of Warisan’s annual assembly.
However, Muda would still work closely with Warisan especially with Warisan’s decision to expand its wings to Peninsular Malaysia, he said. Warisan chief Shafie Apdal had said his party would need alliances and Muda would be one of their allies.
Shafie said Warisan had become a new choice for the people to bring changes to the country. The lack of viable choices of political party might cause many voters to abstain in the coming general election, he said.
Shafie also said that if Umno could enter Sabah, Warisan could also do the same in Peninsular Malaysia. - FMT
