COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 27,808 new daily Covid-19 cases was reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 3,166,023.
Active cases currently stood at 233,065, up 253.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Over the past week, an average of 25.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 14.8, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 32,276 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The largest number of death was reported in Johor (11) followed by Sabah (6), Selangor (6), Kedah (4), Perak (3), Penang (3), Negeri Sembilan (1), Terengganu (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).
To date, 673 Covid-19 deaths have been reported this month.
A total of 780 Covid-19 deaths were reported in January 2022, 1,174 in December 2021, 1,612 in November 2021 and 2,704 in October 2021.
There are currently 7,658 people who are hospitalised for Covid-19 of which 235 are in intensive care.
The utilisation of hospital beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients is highest in Perak (99 percent), Kelantan (96 percent), Selangor (93 percent), Perlis (93 percent), Putrajaya (85 percent), Kuala Lumpur (84 percent), Johor (80 percent), Sabah (79 percent) and Pahang (51 percent).
However, the number of people in ICU is relatively low compared to previous waves. According to Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, ventilator utilisation by Covid-19 patients is at 36 percent.
