Longest-serving MIC deputy president S Subramaniam passes away at 78

Former MIC deputy president S Subramaniam passed away at the age of 78.

According to media reports, his son S Sunther said Subramaniam died peacefully in his sleep around 8pm on July 5 (Tuesday).

Sunther said his father had been bedridden at home for almost 11 years after suffering a stroke in November 2011.

He was also a deputy minister under three different former prime ministers, Hussein Onn, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Subramaniam’s funeral will be held at his family home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya, on July 7 (Thursday). - Mkini
