BN has yet to decide on the applications of Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) and other parties to join the coalition, said BN secretary-general Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Zambry, however, expressed his gratitude to the parties for their interest in joining the BN coalition.
“The supreme council would like to express our gratitude towards the parties for their interest and readiness to join BN.
“However, all the applications are being reviewed by the BN secretariat,” he told the media after the BN supreme council meeting at World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur today.
When questioned as to how many parties applied to join BN, the coalition’s vice-chairperson, Vigneswaran Sanasee, told the media that six parties had applied.
“A total of six parties made complete applications to join the coalition,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zambry announced the formation of Puteri Barisan Nasional, with the head of Umno Puteri, Zahida Zarik Khan, as its chief.
“The supreme council also agreed to form the Puteri BN wing to coordinate the female youth movement across all component parties,” he said.
Zambry also announced that the supreme council extended BN treasurer-general Hishamuddin Hussein’s term.
“The BN supreme council also decided to extend the term of treasurer general for another two years,” he said.-Mkini
