The Palace of Justice has lodged a police report over an article revealing the alleged written judgment of Rosmah Mansor’s solar graft trial.
In a statement, the court registrar's office referred to an article on the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, who was himself jailed on Tuesday (Aug 23).
Controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin posted the article yesterday on his Malaysia Today blog.
“This is a deliberate act to affect the integrity of the operation of the court and the administration of justice.
“Accordingly, a police report has been made regarding the portal’s reports.
“This office insists that the judiciary will not be disturbed by illegal and irresponsible actions that affect the integrity of the country's judicial system,” said the registrar.
The office did not confirm nor deny the authenticity of the document.
For reference only
Meanwhile, the police reportedly said the document is merely a reference for the judge and not the final copy.
“The document is a research document regarding a case that is still under trial and it is the view of the research unit as a reference for the judge.
“According to the complainant, the document will be amended based on the research and is not the decision of the court,” Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai was quoted as saying by The Star.
“A media report claimed that the decision by the court to find Rosmah guilty has already been made.
“However, the complainant said that the document was not the judgment,” he added.
Sept 1 verdict
The Kuala Lumpur High Court initially scheduled July 7 for a decision on the case involving the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid energy project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
However, the verdict was postponed to Sept 1.
Rosmah’s counsel, Akberdin Abdul Kader, said there was no reason given for the postponement.
Rosmah is facing three charges under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
On his blog, Raja Petra alleged that the judgement on the case had already been written and that Rosmah would be found guilty.
He also claimed the judgment was not written by the trial judge, but by an unknown person.
Raja Petra previously leaked a copy of the draft judgment in Najib’s Federal Court appeal on the SRC International case earlier this week. - Mkini
