Several opposition politicians have criticised the police for transferring nine of their problematic personnel to East Malaysian territories.
Kota Belud MP Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis (above) wrote on Facebook yesterday that Sabah and Sarawak were facing enough problems and the police's policy was adding to it.
"Please lah people at the federal (government). Sabah and Sarawak is not a rubbish dump.
"We are already behind in terms of infrastructure. In terms of services, how can you give us problematic people?
"At this rate, how are we going to improve? Stop treating us like this," she wrote.
Yesterday, deputy Selangor police chief S Sasikala Devi said nine police personnel involved in an extortion racket in Gombak were transferred to Sabah and Sarawak pending investigations.
Sasikala revealed this during an interview with Sinar Harian.
Similarly, Sarawak PKR information chief Abun Sui Anyit urged the police to explain why Sabah and Sarawak were chosen but not other states in Peninsular Malaysia.
"Sarawak and Sabah are peaceful regions. They are not centres for dumping problematic personnel from the peninsula," he said, according to Malay Mail.
He said the correct procedure was to suspend the nine. - Mkini
