PUTRAJAYA: Najib Razak’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, was seen arriving at the Federal Court in Putrajaya at about 1pm to accompany the former prime minister and her children over lunch.
She was seen walking with Najib and their children, Noorashman and Nooryana Najwa, with an entourage towards the court’s cafeteria.
The Federal Court had stood down for lunch break and will resume at 2.30pm. Both Noorashman and Nooryana had arrived at about 9.20am to support their father.
Najib’s SRC International appeal in the Federal Court resumed this morning on a dramatic note with his lead counsel, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, seeking to discharge himself from representing his client.
Hisyam told the court he did not have enough time to prepare for the case. He previously said the defence needed “three to four months” as they had only been appointed last month.
However, the bench led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat disallowed Hisyam from discharging himself.
She said the court was of the unanimous view that Hisyam “failed to disclose adequate reasons” to justify his recusal bid.
The case continued with Hisyam refusing to submit and relying on the previous defence team’s written submission.
The court then asked ad hoc prosecutor V Sithambaram to begin his argument. - FMT
