KUALA LUMPUR: Six cars were damaged by falling trees following heavy rain and strong winds in the federal capital this evening.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said eight cases of fallen trees were reported — in front of the Home Ministry Complex in Jalan Ambassador Mas 1, in front of a condo in Mont Kiara Pines, Lorong Duta 4 Bukit Tunku, in Jalan Ismail Ghaney in Kampung Kasipillay and in Jalan Bruas in Damansara Heights.
"A sign also fell on a car and three motorcycles at the Jalan Duta bus station in Taman Duta."
He said there was also a report of a fallen tree at Royal Domain Sri Putra Mas 2 in Jalan Kuang.
"A fallen tree in Jalan Lembah Duta, Taman Duta, affected traffic."
No fatalities involving trees falling on vehicles have been reported. - NST
