
PETALING JAYA: A Thai national, who had been detained by police in Penang since July 19, died at a the Seberang Jaya hospital on Sunday.
The 29-year old died from septic shock secondary to Pneumonia, Bukit Aman Corporate Communications head Skandaguru Anandan said in a statement.
Septic shock is a frequent complication of pneumococcal pneumonia
She was nabbed last month after failing to produce her identification documents and was held at the Nibong Tebal police station lockup.
