GEORGE TOWN: Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said there is no need for a special parliamentary sitting to debate the littoral combat ship (LCS) procurement scandal, saying he wasn’t “keen on debates anymore”.
“I want action to be taken.
“The facts (on this scandal) are too clear. There should be no more debates,” he said when asked to respond to calls by several Pakatan Harapan senators and an MP for a special parliamentary sitting.
He was speaking to reporters after chairing a Penang, Kedah and Perlis PKR leadership council meeting here this evening.

Two days ago, Lim Hui Ying, Fadhlina Sidek and A Kesavadas Nair called for a special parliamentary session to be held to debate the matter. Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim of DAP also made a similar call.
The parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) last week revealed that not a single ship had been completed although Putrajaya had spent RM6 billion on the project, which was given to Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS) through direct negotiations.
