Woman held after clip of her dragging child by the hair goes viral

A woman has been arrested early today after a video of her allegedly abusing a child in Tanjung Sepat, Kuala Langat went viral.

Kuala Langat district police chief Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @Saleh said the woman, in her 60s, was arrested at 12.10am after a report was lodged over the viral video which showed a woman pulling a girl by the hair in front of a house in Tanjung Sepat.

The suspect is a local and the girl, aged 10, is her adopted child, he said in a statement today.

Ridhwan said the girl has been sent to the Banting Hospital for treatment and the woman would be investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
