The Health Ministry said 1,866 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,998,830.
Active cases currently stood at 23,099, down 13.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 8.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,710 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The state with the highest death was Selangor (2) followed by Perak (1), Perlis (1), Terengganu (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).
There are 1,575 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 102 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (109) followed by Sabah (62) and Perak (46). - Mkini
