PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional Youth has come under fire from their rivals for lodging a police report against the political agreement to support Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government.
PKR Youth information chief Haziq Azfar Ishak said his PN counterparts were attempting to confuse the public by disputing the formation of the unity government, which he said was at the behest of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“PN Youth must stop disputing the formation of the unity government and move on,” Haziq said. It should instead focus on assisting its parent coalition to be a constructive opposition.
PN Youth had filed a police report against the unity government yesterday, and claimed that the agreement signed by the five coalition partners was unconstitutional.
PN Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said the agreement was an illegal pact that stifles and damages parliamentary democracy.
The agreement was signed on Friday by Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim, Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Gabungan Parti Sarawak chairman Abang Johari Openg, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Hajiji Noor and Warisan president Shafie Apdal. - FMT
