PETALING JAYA: The number of flood victims continues to rise, especially in Terengganu and Kelantan, with 64,598 individuals evacuated to temporary relief centres as of 6.44am.
According to the welfare department’s disaster info website, 368 relief centres have been set up across five states, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Pahang and Perak.
Terengganu recorded the largest number of evacuees with 34,383 given shelter in 245 relief centres. These include children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
In Kelantan, a total of 30,107 flood victims have been placed in 119 relief centres.
Meanwhile, in Johor, the number of evacuees stands at 48, in Pahang (34), and in Perak (26). - FMT
