The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) and its member banks are committed to assisting customers who have been affected by the recent floods around the country.
In a statement today, ABM said its member banks have in place specific, accessible and compassionate flood relief assistance for their customers who have been impacted by the floods.
“The assistance offered is based on customised programmes by individual banks and may include (but are not limited to) deferment of repayment of loans, financing, waiver of fees and charges to replace lost and damaged bank documents and bank cards, and more,” it said.
In a separate statement, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd announced it will be reactivating its financial obligation payment relief under the CIMB Flood Relief Assistance Plan.
CIMB will provide a six-month payment relief on loan and financing products for individual and small and medium enterprise (SME)/business customers who have been impacted by the flood.
“Subsequently, a disaster relief facility of up to RM700,000 at a preferential financial rate will also be made available for SME customers that require additional cash flow assistance,” the bank said.
Meanwhile, AmBank Group said in a statement said that it provides targeted assistance to eligible customers.
It said affected customers are offered repayment assistance of up to six months for all loans and financing facilities including credit card facilities, with no late or penalty charges imposed during the repayment assistance period.
